A Compact and lightweight 30 Litre Rucksack/Daysack that was originally developed in Early-Mid 1990s as part of the British Army's PLCE (Personal Load Carrying Equipment) System, designed specifically for troops on foot patrol in Northern Ireland.
The need of a durable, tough pack that can carry extra rations, ammunition, water and overnight kit was high that didn't have the bulk of a standard larger sized bergen, hence the 30 litre daysack was introduced.
Besides the "Northern Ireland" nicknamed that this pack got due to it's extensive use in "The Troubles", it has seen wide service in the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. As well as making a recent resurgence with British Army today due to it's reliability and preference over the Virtus Daysack.
